Hunt started in Pokémon SoulSilver (00005) by soft reseting in front of Cyndaquil.

After 22 days, 3965 soft resets, and 2185 minutes; or 36h26m; I finally got my shiny starter to literally kick off my ultimate save file in Pokémon SoulSilver, complete with every item collected and all mechanics explored. I decided to get a cool Trainer ID beforehand; it took me 1h24m to land on 00005. Then, from August 27th to September 18th, I kept hunting until my Cyndaquil finally shone. It’s even Modest!
